Signs You Should Hire a Plumber

Any homeowner or renter knows that occasional plumbing problems are inevitable.  Sometimes it’s something small that can be easily handled, but other times it’s an issue that really should be handled by a professional.  Not all problems are created equal, so how do you know the difference?  Here are some plumbing issues that are best handled by a professional plumber.

-Low water pressure throughout your home:  This could be caused by any number of problems.  A professional plumber can quickly evaluate your plumbing system and determine if this issue is caused by a leak, an obstruction, or a poor plumbing layout.  Calling a professional will save you a lot of time here.

-No hot water:  Obviously there’s something wrong with your water heater, but what?  It could be the heating element, a defective thermostat, or mineral buildup in the tank.  If the entire water heater needs to be replaced, your professional plumber is up to the task, saving you the effort of getting the new heater into your house and the old one out.  This is especially beneficial if your heater is in the basement!  You also have the peace of mind that comes with knowing your new heater is installed correctly.

-Clogged sewer line:  This is a big problem that affects the functionality of your entire home.  Your sewer line could be blocked by tree roots, which is something your household plunger can’t fix.  Don’t run the risk of ruining your pipes by doing this yourself.  A&W Plumbing is equipped with video cameras for a thorough sewer line inspection, special blades to cut through tree roots, and a hydro-jetting system for other types of clogs.

-Frozen pipes:  You should always make sure your home is thoroughly winterized to avoid frozen pipes, but it can still happen.  Trying to thaw out your pipes too quickly can make them burst, costing you even more time and money.  A professional plumber can assess whether the pipe can be safely thawed or if it should be replaced.

-Yearly maintenance:  One of the best ways to keep your plumbing up and running is to have a regular maintenance schedule.  Your plumber can detect small issues before they become big problems, which will save you a lot of money in the long run.

Remember that no matter how small the problem is, you don’t have to tackle any plumbing predicament you aren’t comfortable with.  Whether the job is big or small, A&W Plumbing is always here to help.
